Welcome to Minimalist Within Therapy Services, where together we focus on you feeling better.
Cheryl attended the University of Manitoba for a BA in Criminology and Psychology (2005), then the University of Calgary to complete a BSW (2009) and a MSW (2010). Cheryl has worked across various demographics in partnerships with various First Responders, but has focused primarily on the stress of the family unit and parents, including within: private therapy, child protection, addiction, domestic violence, children’s mental health and youth mentorship.
My clinical approach is focused primarily on a trusting relationship that uses Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Work, Internal Family Systems, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) concepts and Motivational Interviewing, to allow you to move quickly into feeling better and more at ease in your daily life.
Areas of focus include: Trauma treatments (acute, chronic, complex), Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Pre/Post/Perinatal mental health, Men’s work, parenting, grief and loss, relationship stress, and self-esteem while integrating 200hr Yoga Teacher Training concepts such as yoga, meditation, Yoga Nidra, breath work and mindfulness.
Reducing stress and overwhelm for professionals and parents, increasing resilience and seeing people rise above their adversity, while discovering a sense of success, peace and strength within all areas of life, has become my passion.
